Film Review

Title: College Invasion (DVD)

"College Invasion #1" wants so badly to be the next sordid step up the ladder in the evolution of the "Girls Gone Wild" video series. And while on some levels it succeeds outrageously (The scene with Nacho Vidal openly balling Brittney Skye while surrounded by a bunch of screaming teens and young 20-somethings at a college house party is just one example of this movie's ability to intensely stimulate viewers), at other times it simply misses the point.

"Girls Gone Wild" is highly popular, not for its softcore sexiness, but rather because it uses regular girls - or as regular as crazy, drunk college chicks can be when tossed into a party setting and asked to put their tits on display - as the centerpiece of the story. The gals go on vacation, get bombed, get rowdy, pull up their tops, and everyone there has fun. Because the entire situation is plausible, viewers can get it into it and enjoy the action all the more.

In "College Invasion Volume 1," however, the sorority sisters are relegated to the role of cheerleaders and background eye candy. The porn stars are the main attraction here. Truth be told, they could be screwing around anywhere. They just so happen to be fucking while a bunch of college age kids egg them on. Fortunately, the adult antics on this tape - both of the sexual and non-sexual variety - are entertaining. It's also a plus to see mainstay porn stars like Calli & Nacho letting down their hair, taking the entire experience with a grain of salt, and basically enjoying themselves. That's why this movie is less like "GGW" and more like the highly successful "Shane's World" series (also directly by the busty and beautiful Shane) than anything else. It's premise just happens to remind people of "Girls Gone Wild" because those vids are sold on info-mercial and just so happen to be the popular tit jiggle movies of the moment. Still, if I were running a frat party, Calli, Taylor, Felix and their friends are the type of guests I'd want to stop by. They're also the type of wild & crazy crew I'd urge to "show us your tits" out on the street, much like Producer Joe Francis does in "GGW." While I'm sure he gets as many hits as misses from his request to "whip out your boobies," I'm betting that the porn stars in this film would be more than happy to oblige my request. And so, without further adieu, let the "College Invasion" begin, so Shane's buds can show us how it's done!
